Services We Provide

Communication Corner offers speech therapy services which can be offered in a range of settings either in the clinic, home, kindergarten or school setting. You do not require a referral to be seen by a speech pathologist.

We specialise in the assessment and treatment of communication difficulties in children which include:

  • Articulation Disorders (unclear speech)
  • Expressive Delays/Disorders
  • Comprehension Delays/Disorders
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Phonological Awareness/Literacy delays
  • Auditory Processing Difficulties
  • Stuttering
  • Assessment

The first session involves an interview during which an in depth case history is obtained. Following this, a formal or informal assessment is conducted to identify your child’s strengths and limitations. Once completed, a treatment plan with recommendations is prepared to target areas of concern. If a formal assessment is conducted, a comprehensive report with recommendations is included in the assessment cost.

Therapy at Communication Corner is always fun! Your child’s interests are taken into consideration when planning the treatment plan to maximise your child’s engagement during sessions. An individualised home practise program is devised so your child can revise introduced concepts at home. Regularity of sessions include weekly, fortnightly or other options. Therapy sessions are conducted in 30, 45 or 60 minute blocks. Parental involvement is encouraged at all times as experts agree that parental involvement is crucial to the success of a child's progress in speech therapy.

    Kindergarten Screenings

If speech and language difficulties are identified early upon school entry then difficulties can be remediated and supported as early as possible. Kindergarten classes can be screened to identify children who may be at risk of starting their first year of school with an undiagnosed speech and/or language problem. Each child will be provided with a report containing recommendations.
